Power Automate/Apps: Importing Solution Package Fails Due to Custom Connector Error

--

The Issue:

When your solution includes custom connectors that are absent in the target environment, importing it becomes problematic. Microsoft has recognized this issue as a “known limitation.”

Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/customconnectorssolutions?WT.mc_id=DX-MVP-5003873#known-limitations

The Fix:

  1. Begin by creating a new solution in your source environment. This serves as the container for the custom connector.
  2. Add the custom connector to the new solution.
  3. Export the new solution.
  4. Import the exported solution into the target environment.
  5. Now, reattempt the import of the solution that previously failed. This time, you won’t encounter any connection loading errors since the custom connector already exists in the current environment.
